Account and Profile Information:
1. Editing my profile.
It is important that you keep your profile information current and up to date. "Edit" links are placed throughout different sections of your Profile.
To edit your Profile:
a) Click on Edit My Profile on the left side of your home page.
b) Click the Edit link, located next to the information you wish to edit. c) Make revisions and click Update.
2. How do I add a photo to my profile?
a) Click on Edit My Profile on the left side of your home page.
b) Click the Edit link, located next to empty profile picture box.
c) Upload picture and click Update.
As a professional networking site, there are guidelines to determine which types of photos are appropriate. The User Agreement states that you may not upload a cartoon, symbol, drawing or any content other than a photograph of yourself in your profile photo. If your photo is not an image of yourself or does not contain an actual photograph, it is considered inappropriate.
3. How do I add a video resume to my profile?
*Please note: You must currently have a Video Resume setup on YouTube to use this application. After you upload your Video Resume to YouTube, you can add a link to the video on your Pinklinx profile page.
a) Click on Accounts and Settings on the top right of any page
b) Under Profile Settings, click on Video Resume.
c) At the bottom of the page, paste in the YouTube link for your Video Resume and click Save Changes.
Video Resume Guidelines:
-Videos should not be longer than 5 minutes
-Videos must include professional content only
-You must be dressed in proper business attire in your video
-Do not give out personal contact information on your video
**Please note: As stated in the User Agreement, only video resumes with professional content are permitted. Any other type of video is considered inappropriate. Uploading anything other than a Video Resume of yourself with professional content may lead to immediate termination of your Pinklinx account.
4. How do I control the settings and preferences for my Pinklinx Account?
a) Click on the Account & Settings link in the upper right hand area of any page.
5. How do I change my screen name?
a) Click on Accounts and Settings on the top right of any page
b) Under Personal Information, click on Name & Location.
c) Make edits and click Save Changes
6. How do I change my password?
a) Click on Accounts and Settings on the top right of any page
b) Under Personal Information, click on Change Password.
c) Make edits and click Update.
7. How do I change the email address on my account?
a) Click on Accounts and Settings on the top right of any page
b) Under Personal Information, click on Change Email.
c) Follow instructions to make edits.
8. How do I cancel my PinkLinx account?
We are sorry to hear that you want to leave the PinkLinx community.
a) Log into PinkLinx.com
b) Click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page.
c) Choose the Close Account option from the menu.
d) Please let us know why you are leaving (optional).
e) Click the Submit button.
We will send you a confirmation after your account has been cancelled.
9. I forgot my password. How do I retrieve it?
You can reset your password from the main log in screen and receive a password reset email.
a) Go to the “Sign into Pinklinx” page, click on Forgot password and follow instructions.
Customer Service Help:
What is the customer service telephone number?
Pinklinx does not provide telephone support to our members. Our primary avenue for support is through the Contact Us link found at the bottom of any page on the website.
Groups:
1. Can I start my own group?
Yes, any Pinklinx member can start a new group.
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on Create a Group tab & follow instructions
2. How do I edit the information on my group?
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Click on Manage
d) Click on Edit Info & Settings on right side of page
e) After making edits, click the Create Group button to save changes.
3. How do I start a discussion or add a comment to a discussion?
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Click on Discussions tab
d) From here you can start a new discussion or add a comment to an existing discussion.
4. How do I join a group chat?
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Click on Chat
5. How do I get notified when someone requests to join my group?
Pinklinx does not currently send automatic email notifications to group owners when someone requests to join a group. Please login and check your groups on a regular basis to monitor for group requests.
6. I own a group on Pinklinx and would like to send a message to all of the group members. Can I do this? Mass emailing capabilities are not available. However, you can communicate information and share opinions with your group by using the Discussions feature or through a live Group Chat.
7. How do I change my group from public to private?
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Click on Manage
d) Click on Edit Info & Settings on right side of page
e) Put a Check in the checkbox at the bottom that says Group Visibility
f) Click Create Group button to save changes.
8. How do I accept/decline requests to join my group?
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Find the group you wish to view.
d) If there are any requests to join, you will see a Request To Join link. Click on the Requests to Join link.
e) Click on the box next to the members name and click the Approve button. You also have the option to decline.
9. Blocking someone from my group.
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Click on Manage
d) Click on the box next to the members name and click the Block button.
10. Withdrawing a pending request to join a group.
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Locate the pending Request to Join you would like to remove. Click on link Withdraw Request.
11. Will I be able to see my fellow group members contact list?
No. Joining a group does not allow you to see a fellow member's network. It only allows you to see other group members. Requests to be connected to a fellow group member must be done on an individual basis.
12. How do I leave a group?
a) Go to Groups section
b) Click on My Groups
c) Click the Leave Group link under the group you wish to leave
Contacts & Invitations:
1. How do I invite someone to join Pinklinx?
a) On the top left side of any page, click on the “Invite Friends and Colleagues” button.
2. How do I remove a contact?
a) Click on the My Contacts link on the left side of your Home page
b) Find the user’s name you want to remove and click delete
2. How do I add someone to my Top 10 list?
a) Click on My Contacts on the left side of your home page
b) Next to the contact’s name, click on Add to Top 10.
3. How do I find out if my friends are already on PinkLinx?
a) On the Horizontal bar at top of page, click on Search People button to search by name.
OR
b) On the Horizontal bar at top of page, click on Search Companies button to search by the company name.
4. I can’t see a member’s list of contacts.
Why can't I see the contacts for some of the Pinklinx users I'm connected to?Some Pinklinx users choose not to make their contacts visible to the other people they're connected to.
5. How do I import contacts into my Pinklinx account? Members can import their contacts from their web mail service (Hotmail®, Gmail®, Yahoo®, AOL®).
a) Click on the pink Invite Friends & Colleagues button found on the left side of your home page.b) Click on Import Contacts tab.
c) Click on Check Webmail button.
d) Select your webmail service provider, enter your webmail username and password and click on Upload Contacts.
*Please note that uploaded contacts are NOT automatically invited to connect with you. You must manually invite each one.
6. How do I hide my list of contacts so they are not visible to my network?
a) Click on Accounts and Settings on the top right of any page
b) Click on My Contacts
c) Choose Hidden and click Save
Chats:
There are two chat options on Pinklinx.
a) Public Chat – click on Chat link on top right side of any page to access the public chat room. Anyone can participate in public chat.
b) Group Chat – Go to your My Groups section to join or start a group chat within your group. *Note: You must be a member of that that particular group to join that group chat.
Message Board:
How do I delete a message that someone left me on my message board?
a) Go to “My Home Page”
b) Click the Delete link next to the message you would like to delete
Current Status:
How do I set my current status?
a) Go to “My Home Page”
b) Enter your current status and click submit
Events:
How do I create an event?
a) Go to My Home Page
b) Go to My Events and click on Add a New Event
